Beautiful Is a Filter is a digital artwork that challenges contemporary obsessions with beauty and the ways it is reduced to rigid, superficial standards. Rejecting artificial ideals of perfection, the work embraces the raw, unfiltered qualities of human experience. Drawing on glitch art and the aesthetics of error, the piece foregrounds imperfections, distortions, and disruptions as expressive elements rather than flaws. Beauty is revealed not as fixed or universal, but as unstable, subjective, and deeply personal.

A language that does not exist runs through the work, an invented linguistic form composed entirely of processed audio mosaics of human voices. Neither readable nor translatable, this non-language is both alien and familiar. By removing semantic meaning, the work invites an emotional encounter beyond words, bypassing cultural filters and societal expectations.

Part of Ground Studies for Pilots performance series, Beautiful Is a Filter explores perception, identity, and shifting realities.
